Facilities
The overwater villas snake away from the main island along a winding walkway past the Gathering, the central point of the resort with restaurants and bars and a choice of places to sit. There’s a gym, spa, a children’s den although a much larger stand alone one is planned, and there’s also the largest observatory in the entire Maldives with a resident astronomer who will illuminate the night sky as you dine.
Guests can choose between bikes or a golf buggy to reach the tennis court and deserted beaches of the main island while a small speed boat shuttles between the four untouched islands in the lagoon. 

Cinema Paradio at Soneva Jani (Soneva Jani)

At the far end of the main island past the organic garden and beyond the screw pine and banana trees, Cinema Paradiso is an overwater, open-air cinema and bar where guests are given bluetooth headphones to avoid disturbing the nesting turtles.
Extra curricular
Soneva aims to “inspire a lifetime of rare experiences” and Soneva Jani certainly offers up an exciting choice. Underwater wonders include snorkelling and diving expeditions, guests can castaway with a deluxe lunch cooked on Zuhair’s desert island, explore the wines of the world during a Mediterranean wine dinner with the knowledgeable sommelier Sreeni or look out for dolphins on a sunset cruise.
As at all Soneva resorts, every guest has their own private butler, Mr or Ms Friday who will move heaven and earth, while smiling serenely, to provide a truly tailor made personal experience.
